About Us
NTTAC bridges the gap between policy and practice by providing high-quality training and technical assistance. We partner with families, youth, and communities to build evidence-based systems that enhance the delivery of mental health services and advance long-term well-being.

Our Mission
The National Training and Technical Assistance Center for Child, Youth, and Family Mental Health (NTTAC) empowers states, Tribes, territories, communities, public entities, and family-run organizations to build and sustain effective systems of care by providing high-quality, accessible, and implementation-focused training and technical assistance.
How NTTAC Accomplishes Its Mission
Through deep partnerships with families, youth, providers, policymakers, and national experts, we enhance the delivery of mental health services and supports, and advance family- and youth-driven systems—ensuring children, youth, and young adults with mental health needs, and their families, can access coordinated, developmentally appropriate, and sustainable services at the right time and in the right settings to promote long-term well-being.

Funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA), NTTAC is a partnership of 11 distinct national organizations, and numerous subject matter experts, led by Innovations Institute and FREDLA. While no single entity can solve the youth mental health crisis alone, together, in partnership with the states, jurisdictions, territories, and Tribes we serve, we provide the experience and expertise to improve outcomes for and with children, youth, young adults, and their families.

Our Approach

As NTTAC, we provide high-quality, accessible, and implementation-focused training and technical assistance to empower states, jurisdictions, territories, and Tribes in building and sustaining effective systems of care.

Through deep partnerships with families, youth, providers, policymakers, and national experts, we work to ensure that children, youth, and young adults with mental health needs —and their families—can access coordinated, community responsive, developmentally appropriate, and sustainable mental health supports.

Our goal is to ensure coordinated, accountable child- and family-serving systems that deliver effective mental health services and supports—ensuring children, youth, and families can access the right services, at the right time, and in the right settings.
We work to implement systems that are workforce-supported, data-informed, and sustainably designed to achieve measurable outcomes and lasting impact.

Innovations Institute, at the UConn School of Social Work, is a national leader in the implementation of evidence-based practices and systems of care for children, youth, young adults, and their families. By bridging the gap between research, policy, and practice, Innovations provides the specialized expertise necessary to build effective and sustainable public systems.
FREDLA is the national association of family-run organizations dedicated solely to children, youth, and young adults with mental health, substance use, and multi-system challenges, their families, and the agencies serving them.
