Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe citizen Don Lyons, MSW, serves as the Tribal TA Lead for NTTAC. Don has built a career in behavioral health leadership, federal grant technical assistance, project management, administration, and entrepreneurship, specializing in helping communities design and implement holistic, culturally grounded systems of care (SOC) across behavioral health, education, child welfare, juvenile justice, and community-based systems. With a career dedicated to managing nationwide training and technical assistance centers, Don brings extensive experience in delivering culturally grounded TTA to over 300 Tribal Nations and urban organizations. His background focuses on bridging strategic oversight with a practical understanding of the unique sovereign and community contexts across Indian Country. Don, who also has Six Nations Mohawk heritage, is committed to ensuring that the technical assistance provided through NTTAC is respectful, high-impact, and directly aligned with the specific goals of the Tribal communities we serve. His subject matter expertise includes: 1) Strategic Planning, 2) Facilitation, 3) Tribal and Urban SOC, 4) Cultural Navigation and Humility, 5) Community-Based Participatory Evaluation (CBPE).
