
TA Leads

Kate Sweeney, MSW, LCSW-C, is Co-Director of the Parent Infant Early Childhood Team at Innovations Institute and Assistant Extension Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work and serves as an NTTAC Technical Assistance Lead. Kate has over 20 years of direct clinical and TTA experience within systems of care (SOC) work. She has served as a Project Director for Early Childhood SOC and Transition-Age Youth Grants as well as a former Elected Board Member for Infant and Mental Health Association of Maryland and Delaware. Her areas of expertise include Early Head Start, primary care integration, workforce development, engagement of incarcerated caregivers, infant and early childhood evidence-best practices and system design, and trauma-informed care. Kate’s experience with the Children’s Mental Health Initiative (CHMI) grant program includes serving as a project director, a TTA partner for two state CHMI grants, a TTA partner for an NCTSN grant, and a co-facilitator of the Early Childhood Learning Community for NTTAC. Her subject matter expertise includes: 1) Early Head Start, 2) Primary Care Integration, 3) Workforce Development, 4) Engagement of Incarcerated Caregivers, 5) Infant and Early Childhood Evidence-Based Practices and System Design, 6) Trauma-Informed Care.
